Netball Competition Details

High School Netball Information

Date: 4-6 December (u/15, u/16, u/17 & u/18 teams)
Location: Huguenot High School, Wellington

Dear Teams,

We are excited to announce that Six Gun Grill Summer Sport Festival will be hosting you at the netball courts from December 4-6, 2025. This event promises to be a fantastic opportunity for teams to showcase their skills and engage in friendly competition.

Everything Netball:

GAME STRUCTURE

  1. Match duration: 4 quarters of 7min (rest between quarters – 2, 3, 2).
  2. Toss-up: The first round of each day teams will do a toss-up on court. Thereafter captains will toss at the technical table at half-time. If one of the captains is not present the toss goes to the team captain present.
  3. Central time: There will be central time – meaning no time will be stopped for injury, blood or technical changes – this should be dealt with as quickly as possible.
  4. Players: There are no restrictions on the number of players per team, it is at the discretion of the coach who they want to play.
  5. No placements: There will be no team placements during this tournament. No scores will be calculated after each game to determine a winner – thus there will not be any prizes.

TECHNICAL ARRANGEMENTS

  1. Score cards: Score cards will be on court at the score keeper tables. Each team should ensure that someone is keeping score at the table. At the end of each round the local runners from Huguenot will fetch the score cards and replace them with the score cards of the next round.
  2. Match Balls: Please ensure that the match balls are handed back to the umpires at the end of each match.Benches: Please leave the bench area neat and tidy for the next teams.

UMPIRES

  1. Each team that entered must be accompanied by an umpire. Umpires are not supplied by the organizing committee of the event and there are no umpires on standby for the duration of the tournament. If a team is not able to arrange an umpire – you are welcome to contact Lize Vosloo at event@summerfestival.co.za for a list of umpires that might be available.
  2. Umpire placements will be according to the “play-give” system. Example: If your team plays Round 5 you must supply the umpire for Round 6. Umpires will be placed for the first round every morning.
  3. Umpires must at least have a Prov C+ to officiate u.15 & u.16 games and at least a Prov B or SA C to officiate u.17 & u.18 games.
  4. New netball rules apply.

Please note the following two points:
➤ We tried to accommodate each team to play at least 6-8 games over the 2½ days.
➤ Always respect your opponent no matter their age or the team you are playing against. Respect the umpires. Honor the good spirit of the game.
