More About of Summer Rugby Festival
Background
The inaugural Six Gun Grill Summer Rugby Festival is a new product scheduled to take place in the iconic Stellenbosch at the start of December this year. The exciting eight-day competition will give school players who have worked hard in their off-season a short-term goal to work towards. “Top schools start their preparations for the following rugby season in October each year, and this new competition will be a fantastic opportunity for these teams to get quality organised game time.
In the past few years, schools had a 3–5-month pre-season with very limited exposure to well organised matches, leading to schools have to go abroad to get quality competition at a significant cost.
The Six Gun Grill Summer Rugby Festival will allow the school to send a squad of players to experience ‘trial type’ conditions in an organised rugby festival, while enjoying the beautiful and iconic Stellenbosch over December.
For 2024 the focus of the festival will be on the under 19 groups for the 2025 season teams of 2025.
